TAZEWELL COUNTY, Ill. – A fire in Tazewell County late Tuesday night heavily damaged a home and a vehicle on the property.
Pekin Firefighters Local 524 said on its Facebook page that crews were on the scene of a working fire near the intersection of Sheridan Road and Cypress Point, in Country Club Estates between Pekin and Groveland.
Jennifer Heyder told 25 News that her daughter, son-in-law and their six kids live at the home that caught on fire on Cypress Point. She said they made it out safely, but didn’t know the status of the family’s pets.
Firefighters were still on the scene of the fire after 12 a.m. Wednesday.
