PEORIA, Ill. – A car fire overnight in Peoria spread to a nearby home.
Peoria Fire Battalion Chief Ryan Calhoun says crews were called to NE Madison Avenue around midnight Wednesday morning, finding a car on fire near a residence with flames extending to the home’s exterior.
Firefighters put the fire out quickly, preventing it from damaging the home’s interior.
A fire inspector on-scene determined the fire was unintentional.
Residents of the home got out before crews arrived. No injuries were reported.
The fire caused roughly $10,000 damage.
