A settlement has been reached between a Limestone Community High School teacher who allegedly touched a former student inappropriately.
Details of the settlement have not been released, but the agreement could be dismissed on or before July 22.
On June 4, 60-year-old Limestone teacher William Wood was found not guilty of inappropriately touching student Alexandra Menefee in 2017.
A lawsuit was filed by 19-year-old Menefee in September 2018, saying Wood stood behind her and felt a “firm grasp on her backside”, that she believes it was intentional.
The suit named Limestone Community High School District No. 310 superintendent Allan Gresham, principal Jerolee Look and Wood.
Since the lawsuit was filed, others have made allegations against Wood and have notified Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell’s office.
