Bond is set at $5 million dollars for the Avon man accused of fatally shooting a Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputy.
Nathan Woodring, 42, appeared in Fulton County court Thursday. He is charged with first-degree murder. If convicted, Woodring could be sentenced to up to 60 years in prison without parole.
Woodring is accused of shooting Fulton County Deputy Troy Chisum, 39, Tuesday afternoon as Chisum responded to a call of a battery and disturbance call at a home in Avon.
Woodring allegedly barricaded himself in the residence and was arrested without incident Wednesday morning after a nearly 19-hour standoff with police.
Woodring is scheduled to be back in court July 11.
