The local law enforcement community will be canvassing a Peoria neighborhood seeking information concerning the city’s 12th homicide of the year.
Peoria Police, Crimestoppers and Peoria Community Against Violence will canvas the area of Harrison Homes at 11 a.m. Monday as they seek anyone with information concerning the fatal shooting of Brownzell Howard, 34 (pictured).
Peoria police responded to the 2700 block of West Trewyn at 10:41 p.m. June 23 on a ShotSpotter alert of multiple shots fired. Moments later, a second ShotSpotter alert was received indicating additional rounds fired.
Upon arrival, officers found Howard inside an apartment on Trewyn, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Howard was transported to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center where he later was pronounced dead.
