U.S. Rep. Cheri Bustos (17-Democrat) announced a $3 million grant for Illinois Central College from the U.S. Commerce Department’s Economic Development Administration.
The grant will help establish a workforce training center for the college.
“Illinois Central College plays a vital role preparing Peoria-area students for success in the workforce,” said Bustos in a news release.
“A Workforce Sustainability Center will provide our students with an opportunity to build their skill set, prepare for the workforce and support local employers in our community,” said Illinois Central College President, Sheila Quirk-Bailey.
The Workforce Sustainability Center will help students train and prepare for jobs in this region.
