The National Weather Service says, thanks to the remnants of Hurricane Barry, conditions are favorable for the formation of funnel clouds Tuesday afternoon.
“It is not uncommon to see these types of funnel clouds when we have the remnants of a tropical system nearby,” said news partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins. “There is no rotation with these funnels and they dissipate when it starts raining.”
Collins said the funnels are not associated with severe weather, “in fact, they don’t even show up on radar.”
Collins said tornado warnings are not issued in this scenario.
