A foundation based out of New York, will be helping the family of fallen Fulton County Deputy, Troy Chisum, by raising money to pay off the family’s mortgage.
Chisum died while responding to a disturbance and battery call in rural Avon, Illinois on June 25. Chisum was 39-years-old, and served as a Sheriff’s Deputy with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office, a paramedic with Fulton County EMA, and as a firefighter with Northern Tazewell County.
The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation announced in a press release Friday their plan to take over the mortgage for the Chisum family, and pay it off as quickly as possible.
In the release, Frank Siller, CEO and chairman of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation said “While no amount of money can replace the sudden and tragic loss of a husband and father, I hope the news that their home is theirs forever will make a difference. We want the family, the Sheriff’s Department and all first responders to know that we have their back”.
The Tunnel to Tower foundation was established to honor 9/11 first responder Stephen Siller, who died in the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
