Peoria City Council Member Zach Oyler, 35, was released from the Peoria County Jail Wednesday afternoon.
Oyler was arrested in the 3000 block of N. Bigelow St. Tuesday night, and accused of aggravated domestic battery, interfering with a report of domestic violence, and unlawful restraint.
The Journal Star reports that Oyler’s wife, Heather, has obtained an order of protection against him Wednesday afternoon, requiring him to stay at least 300 feet from her.
Oyler had been held without bond, then a bond had been reduced to $100 by the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office Wednesday afternoon.
His next court date is Wednesday, September 11.
Police were initially called to the home around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, where a woman accused Oyler of domestic battery, according to a release from the Peoria Police Department.
He was booked in the county jail at 11:21 p.m. Tuesday.
