The Peoria Fire Department battled a complex house fire.
Friday night Peoria Firefighter/Paramedics responded to a possible structure fire in the 2000 block of W. Lincoln Ave.
When the first crews arrived, they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of the residence.
The crew made a very aggressive interior attack under heavy fire conditions, and were able to knock down the fire within 10 minutes of arrival.
Additional crews arrived for backup and performed a search of the home for possible victims.
In the basement, the search crew located a large dog standing over the resident. The victim was rescued and safely brought outside and attended to by Peoria Firefighter/Paramedics until AMT arrived.
The victim was transported to a local hospital. The dog with the victim, and two other dogs that were located were also safely rescued.
This fire was fought with near zero visibility as the entire structure was filled with smoke.
