A 24-year-old man has been arrested for aggravated battery with a firearm.
Peoria Police responded to the area the 1600 block of S. Griswold St. just before 2:00 a.m. Monday for 5 consecutive Shotspotter alerts.
Upon arrival, police located two adult males, who claimed to be victims of a burglary. One male said he shot at the burglar.
While at the scene, police located a 38-year-old male in the alley calling for help. The man had multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The incident remains under investigation. At this time, 24-year-old Lawrence Burns has been arrested for aggravated battery with a firearm.
