Peoria Firefighter/Paramedics responded to a fire at 911 S. Louisa St. around 2:30 A.M. Sunday morning. When firefighters arrived, the two residents had self evacuated after smelling smoke.
Smoke was coming from the eaves around the front porch and extended from the ground floor of the home to an exterior wall. Due to the difficulty of access to the fire, moderate damage was caused to the home.
The Salvation Army was called to provide shelter for the two residents and their dog.
The cause of the fire is undetermined and an investigation is ongoing.
