Peoria Firefighters/Paramedics were called to 3432 W. Oakcrest Drive around 9:20 a.m. Sunday for an apartment fire.
Crews found smoke coming from the building with fire in the living room of apartment 1C on the lower level.
The fire was knocked down within 8 minutes of the firefighters’ arrival. A search of all three floors showed that all residents had escaped unharmed.
All twelve units suffered smoke damage.
The Red Cross was called in to assist families from ten units. One baby was evaluated and released to her mother at the scene by AMT.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
