Peoria is preparing for the Big Table.
Jeff Griffin, President of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce, says the event in October will be focused on strengthening the Peoria region.
“It’s an idea of engaging a regional community conversation. And, the Big Table can take on many forms. For us, it’s going to be one day, October 15th at the Peoria Civic Center.”
Griffin tells WMBD’s Greg and Dan, discussions at the Big Table will focus on four topics: positivity, community input, regional vision for the future, and collecting regional data to identify areas of concern.
Griffin says Big Table Greater Peoria will be an opportunity for the community to share their concerns and hopes for the Peoria region.
“You bring something with you. You may not like every dish served at the Big Table, but you’re polite. And, you taste every dish. And, your participatory. So there’s a responsibility that we’re asking from folks. How do we connect these dots?”
