Gas prices continue to fall in the Peoria-area and nationwide.
The average across the Peoria area is $2.56 per gallon. The drop is 1.3 cents cheaper thaN last week and just over 31 cents lower than a month ago.
Patrick DeHaan, head of petroleum analysis for GasBuddy.com, said, “With Labor Day around the corner, motorists will see the cheapest end to the summer in three years.” He adds gas prices will likely decline even more starting in mid-September as most of the nation begins the transition back to cheaper winter gasoline.
According to AAA, the most expensive gas is in California at $3.57 a gallon. The cheapest is Louisiana at $2.20.
