A Metamora child drowned in a lake Monday morning.
According to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood, at approximately 7:30 a.m., family members reported that 3-year-old Luke Rynearson left their home on Horseshoe Lane without their knowledge.
Once they realized the child was missing, a search began.
He was found in the lake, unresponsive and not breathing.
According the coroner, the 3-year-old was immediately pulled from the water, and CPR was initiated, until EMS and first responders arrived.
He was then transported to OSF Saint Francis Pediatric Emergency Department, where he was pronounced dead at 9:52 a.m.
Harwood said autopsy results showed Rynearson died from drowning, and there were no signs of trauma or foul play.
