It has been confirmed that Peoria’s 20th homicide victim for 2019 was pregnant.
“Our forensic pathologist determined that she was between 12 and 13 weeks pregnant,” Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood said.
Harwood said legally a death certificate can not be filed for the baby.
“The baby is under the age of viability, which is 20 weeks,” Harwood said.
Williams was shot in the head on Sunday, Sept. 22. She was pronounced dead at the scene in the area of Starr and Griswold.
Two suspects have been indicted for the death of Williams.
Denise Williams, 25, has been indicted for first degree murder, with a $1.5 million bond. Montaye Phifer, 30, has been indicted for possession of a weapon by a felon, and a $25,000 bond.
Both are expected back in court Sept. 26.
