The City of East Peoria’s main department phone lines have been restored following damage by a lightning strike Friday afternoon.
Now functional are: East Peoria City Hall, Central Fire Station and Fire Station 4, Public Works, East Peoria Housing Authority, EastSide Centre, Planning and Community Development and Buildings and Inspections.
Those seeking assistance from the East Peoria Police Department and Fire Departments should call 698-4700 for non-emergencies and 911 for emergencies. Those numbers were not affected by the lightning strike.
The city’s other phone numbers remain unable to make or receive calls outside of the organization. Work will continue on system repairs.
