PEORIA, Ill – Two local UnityPoint Clinic Express facilities see an update.
UnityPoint Health announced Monday the launch of a new Urgent Care model with UnityPoint Clinic Express in Washington and Morton.
The two walk-in clinics will provide more convenient and personalized care options according to Clinical Administrator, Fawna Gillam.
Express features specially trained attendants, with the goal to have patients treated in about 30 minutes.
Patients will be greeted at the door by medical professionals.
“They will take you into an exam suite where they will register and room you,” Gillam said. “They will stay with you throughout your entire experience.”
On-site prescription medications are available, according to Gillam.
“So you won’t have to go do an extra step at the pharmacy,” Gillam said.
Patients who come in can experience personal touches such as complimentary ice packs, warm blankets, hot tea, and free WIFI.
In addition to treating conditions such as the cold, flu, sore throat, and minor sports injuries, the facility also offers services such as school/sports physicals, flu shots, minor procedues and after hours occupational health services.
Patients have the option of going online to reserve an appointment.
“Say you get off work at 4:30 p.m. and you know you want to be at the clinic by 5:00 p.m., at any of our three locations you can get on [the web site] and put in your reservation,” Gillam said.
The UnityPoint Clinic Express is open seven days a week from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
“We know that life is so busy,” Gillam said. “And, we want to make you better.”
