PEORIA, Ill – Hy-Vee is warning its customers about a potential credit card data breach that dates back to 2018.
The company says six locations may be affected by the breach.
The breach includes The Market Grille and gas pumps at the Peoria Hy-Vee locations.
According to Hy-Vee, Malware was found in the stores data system, searching for customers track-data.
Hy-Vee is asking customers to check bank card statements for any questionable activity.
The breach affected point of sales of outdoor gas pumps in Peoria, Bloomington, and Galesburg between the dates of December 14, 2018 to July 29, 2019.
The Market Grille in Peoria and Bloomington stores were affected between the dates of January 15, 2019 to July 29, 2019.
Hy-Vee and federal law enforcement are investigating.
