CHILLICOTHE, Ill. — A woman was hospitalized after an apartment fire in Chillicothe early Monday morning.
Fire Chief Van Thompson said fire broke out around 5 a.m. in apartment eight in the 300 block of Ridgewood Drive.
Crews found fire coming from a back window, with smoke coming from the front of the unit.
Thompson said the fire did not spread, and was knocked down within 10 minutes.
“We thought it had got into unit seven above, that’s why I called for more help.”
Thompson said the woman’s injuries were not serious.
A cause of the fire is still under investigation.
