PEORIA, Il. – One person is dead after a vehicle vs. pedestrian accident in Peoria.
Police spokesperson Amy Dotson confirms that a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle around 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Information gathered at the scene indicated the vehicle was traveling westbound on W. Glen when the accident occurred.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene.
The Peoria County coroner was called to the scene of the accident just after 9 p.m.
Glen Ave. between Knoxville and Sheridan Rd. was closed to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic until just after midnight.
The accident was under investigation.
