PEORIA, Ill. — No charges have been filed against the driver of vehicle that struck and killed a man Friday night.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said Monday that “no charges would be filed at this time.”
Peoria Police have not released the name of the driver involved in Friday’s crash on W. Glen between Knoxville Avenue and Sheridan Road.
57-year-old Brian Fowler was pronounced dead at the scene in the 200 block of W. Glen around 7:50 p.m. Friday, according to Peoria County Coroner Jamie Harwood.
Harwood said an autopsy indicated that Fowler suffered multiple blunt-force trauma injuries and likely died instantly. A toxicology report was still pending.
Fowler was walking on W. Glen when he was hit. The accident happened around 7:30 p.m. The driver remained on the scene, according to police.
