PEORIA, Ill. –If the outlook for this winter is correct, the Peoria area could see more snow than usual this year.
“Central and Northern Illinois are in the above normal category for precipitation this winter. Seasonal snowfall in Peoria averages 25 inches,” News partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins said.
Regarding temperatures, Collins said, “There’s no indication of a prolonged bitterly cold winter, but a couple of visits from the Polar Vortex aren’t out of the question.”
When it comes to long range forecasting, Collins said, “Hope for the best and prepare for the worst.”
