PEORIA, Ill. –Local high school students have been given an opportunity to learn about careers in manufacturing.
Illinois Central College on Tuesday hosted the Discover Manufacturing Career Expo.
Morton Industries’ Steve Stewart said students toured the company’s facilities to learn about manufacturing from skilled workers on-site.
“We have eleven different career stops. Once they finish that two hours, they get bused back to I.C.C., where they’ll tour the manufacturing labs there.”
Stewart told WMBD’s Greg and Dan, “The manufacturing field has to create a pipeline for the work force that’s coming down the line.”
The expo was set to continue Wednesday at Illinois Central College.
