PEORIA, Ill. — Easterseals Central Illinois has spent a century helping children with developmental delays and disabilities.
CEO and President Steve Thompson told WMBD’s Greg and Dan, the organization has come a long way since it began.
“Over the last 100 years a lot has changed. One thing hasn’t. That is our passionate sense of purpose about kids. We are laser-focused on kids,” Thompson said.
Thompson said Easterseals has seen huge advancements in 100 years.
“Back in 1919, it started as a simple Crippled Children’s clinic, as it was known then. We now have six locations, we’re serving 6,000 children and their families every year,” Thompson said.
Thompson said, going into Easterseals’ next 100 years, he envisions a future where every child is included and empowered.
Easterseals Central Illinois will host a Century Ball on Friday, Nov. 1, at the Peoria Civic Center.
