SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — Illinois State Sen. Andy Manar (D-Bunker Hill) thinks daylight saving time should be observed year-round.
On Twitter earlier this week, Manar said SB 533 would “end the arbitrary time change & IL would join other states.”
If the bill were approved, Illinois would join Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Nevada, Oregon, Tennessee and Washington in making daylight saving time year-round standard time.
Menar said a senate committee approved SB 533 in May. He plans to bring the bill to the full Senate next week during the second installment of the fall veto session.
