PEORIA, Ill. — An arrest was made for a south Peoria stabbing.
Peoria Police were called to a reported stabbing in the 1000 block of south Shelley around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers located a woman who’d been stabbed in the neck and face.
Police developed information that led to the arrest of 59-year-old Linda Matiella.
Matiella was taken into custody without incident shortly after the stabbing in the 900 block of Shelley.
She was transported to the Peoria County Jail and charged with aggravated battery.
Police did not release the name of the female victim that was stabbed.
The police report did indicate that she was transported to a local hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
