PEORIA, Ill. — The Children’s Home Association of Illinois has been helping kids since 1866.
Children’s Home CEO Matt George told WMBD’s Greg and Dan that 1,700 children walk through their agency doors each month.
“We have kids in Peoria Public Schools, we have kids from other communities. It’s our job to really take care of these kids. And, we take pride in it,” George said.
Children’s Home has asked the community to help make Christmas brighter for one or more of 1,100 children that have created a Christmas wish list with the agency.
“These kids aren’t asking for Nintendo and things like that. They’re asking for coats, they’re asking for things for their mom. They’re asking for diapers,” George said.
The public can donate items or adopt a child for the holidays from 150 open wish lists on the Children’s Home website.
