PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters responded to a call just before 12 a.m. Wednesday from the 2300 block of W. Millman.
Crews found a detached garage at the back of a residence on fire. Multiple small fires were found inside the garage.
Battalion Chief Nate Rice said a woman sleeping inside the garage got out before crews arrived on the scene.
“She was then subsequently transported to a local hospital for possible smoke inhalation,” Rice said.
The woman’s condition was not available.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
