PEORIA, Ill. — The annual Santa Clause parade will be on Friday, November 29th.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said the parade will begin around 10:00-10:15 a.m.
“And the route will be south on Monroe to Main, Main to Jefferson , Jefferson to Liberty, Liberty to Adams, and Adams to the courthouse where it will disband,” Dotson said.
Dotson said this is a very long parade, and the intersections along the route are anticipated to be impacted from 10 a.m. to noon.
“That doesn’t mean they will be closed per-say. But they will be shut down and traffic will be allowed through as the parade dictates,” Dotson said. “So if there are lags in the parade, officers can let traffic through.”
Travelers should plan extra time if they choose to come to downtown Peoria at those time for closed roads and increased pedestrian traffic. Or, travelers can avoid the downtown area during parade hours.
