PEKIN, Ill. — Pekin’s Salvation Army needs your help this holiday season.
The Corps’ goal for the annual Christmas campaign has been set at $245,000. Honorary Campaign Chair Jeff Lange told WMBD’s Greg and Dan, it’s a record amount for Pekin.
“It’s kind of a three-pronged thing. It’s the bell ringing of course that everyone is familiar with. And, then there’s personal appeals. Mail appeals as well as online appeals for funding,” Lange said.
Lange said the money raised by the Pekin Salvation Army helps fight things like hunger and drug addiction.
“One of the things that we’re really trying to fight in Pekin is homelessness. And, we’ve got the Rust Transitional Shelter there at the Salvation Army,” Lange said.
