PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria firefighters were called out just before 9 a.m. Monday to the 3400 block of W Sunburst Lane on report of an apartment fire.
Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the roof of the building, and from the ceiling of a bathroom on the third floor.
Firefighters were able to access the attic, and extinguished the fire in a matter of minutes.
A thorough search of the building found no one was inside at the time of the fire.
The Red Cross was dispatched to provide temporary lodging for an adult and two kids.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
