PEKIN, Ill. — A two vehicle accident in rural Tazewell County claims the life of a Pekin woman.
The crash happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday afternoon on Springfield Road, about a quarter of a mile north of Broadway.
Emergency crews arrived on scene and found two vehicles that sustained heavy front end damage.
According to the Tazewell County Sheriff’s office, a 20-year old female from Pekin was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Tazewell County Coroner stated that her name will not be released pending family notification.
The two occupants of the second vehicle, a 45-year old male and a 48-year old female, were transported to a Peoria Hospital with life threatening injuries.
The accident remains under investigation.
