PEORIA, Ill. –A legendary rock singer has been added to the bill for Kiss’ stop in Peoria.
David Lee Roth, the former lead singer for Van Halen, will be a special guest for the February 15th show at the Peoria Civic Center. Roth was the lead singer for Van Halen from 1978 to 1985. After going solo, he rejoined the band for a short stint in the 1990’s, and again in 2006.
Kiss has gone on several farewell tours, but the band says their “End of the Road” world tour is thier final. Kiss formed in New York City in 1973 by Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Peter Criss, and Ace Frehley. Only Simmons and Stanley remain.
The band has come a long way. The first Kiss performance was on January 30, 1973, for an audience of three at the Popcorn Club in Queens.
The band’s final tour kicked off on January 31 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada and currently features 186 additional dates that run through October 3, 2020. Simmons said the farewell tour would likely gross between $150 million and $200 million.
