PEORIA, Ill. — Two men charged with murder in the Dec. 13 fatal shooting of 24-year-old Patrick Moton have pleaded not guilty.
Tyrese Walker, 20, and Desmond Sanders, 29, appeared in court Thursday for arraignment. They face up to 60 years in prison for first-degree murder, and an additional 25 years behind bars if they are found guilty of firearms charges.
Moton was found in an alley near the Dream Night Club on Peoria’s Southside with a gunshot wound to the head.
Moton, the city’s 24th homicide victim of 2019, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A jury trial for both men is set to begin in March.
