PEORIA, Ill. — Public Information Officer Amy Dotson confirms a Peoria Police officer was involved in a two-vehicle accident Saturday night in downtown Peoria.
The crash happened about 11:45 p.m. near the intersection of Main Street and Kumpf Boulevard.
“Cars were in the area looking for a stolen vehicle, when a police car was struck by another vehicle,” Dotson said.
Dotson said the officer sustained minor injuries in the crash.
Illinois State Police are investigating the crash.
