PEORIA, Ill. — Caterpillar has indicated layoffs may be on the horizon in Central Illinois.
The company released a statement on Tuesday implementing some temporary layoffs in East Peoria.
The statement from Caterpillar did not confirm a time frame of when the layoffs would go into effect.
No indication was given on which or how many positions would be cut, or how many employees would be affected.
The statement did indicate that Caterpillar is taking a variety of actions at its global facilities to align production with customer demand.
