PEORIA, Ill. — It looks like we’re in for a wintry mix of snow, rain and sleet this weekend.
News partner 25 News Chief Meteorologist Chuck Collins says heavy rain will begin Thursday night and continue through Friday night.
“We’ll see a wintry mix as we head into the weekend with a glaze of freezing rain that will occur about daybreak Saturday morning,” Collins said.
Collins said by Saturday night the Peoria area could receive up to 2-4 inches of snow. But, regardless of snow totals, strong winds will make visibilities and travel difficult this weekend.
The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Wind Advisory for the WMBD listening area from 10 a.m. through 6 p.m. Thursday and a Flood Watch Friday afternoon through Saturday morning.
