PEORIA, Ill. — A man wanted in Wisconsin was arrested in Peoria.
On Friday, members of the United States Marshals Fugitive Task Force received information on the whereabouts of Shavonte Thompson.
The Peoria Police Department Target Offender Unit assisted the US Marshals in the apprehension of Thompson around 11:00 a.m. in the 400 block of W. Armstrong, without incident.
He was arrested on 2 warrants out of LaCrosse County, Wisconsin according to Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
“For first degree intentional homicide and second degree recklessly endangering safety/possession of a firearm by a felon,” Dotson said. “The first warrant has a $1 million cash bond and the second has no bond.”
Thompson was taken to the Peoria County Jail, where he waits extradition to Wisconsin.
