MCLEAN COUNTY, Ill. (WEEK) — East Peoria Community High School District 309 confirms in a Facebook post that one of its school buses was involved in an accident Saturday.
Illinois State Police say the crash happened around 5:45 PM on Interstate 74 Westbound at milepost 142.
There, they found all 14 people on the school bus uninjured.
East Peoria Community High School says the bus had members of its chess team, which was on its way home from a tournament in Champaign-Urbana when it was hit.
In it’s post, it gave thanks to the Downs Community Fire Protection District for their care and hospitality, and are thankful for no injuries.
