SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — The ISP is hiring. Illinois State Police is accepting applications for this summer’s Cadet Class. Applications are due by January 31.
Master Sgt. Hector Alejandre said applicants must be at least 21 years old and have an associates degree or 60 hours of college course work.
“It’s a rewarding career. We have opportunities not only in patrol, investigation, motorcycle detail, K-9. Starting salary is $60,936 for a first year trooper,” Alejandre said.
Alejandre said the ISP’s next class is scheduled to begin in August.
“So, we’re looking for individuals that have a call for service. And, just looking for a new career path. And, what a great opportunity for them to join a great department that’s been around for almost 100 years,” Alejandre said.
