PEORIA, Ill. — Peoria Police responded to a home invasion Friday morning in the 1500 block of W. Forrest Hill.
The victim told police four men, armed with guns, forced their way into his home, robbed him, then fled in the victim’s vehicle.
Police attempted to stop the car, but the suspect continued to flee.
Peoria Public Information Officer Amy Dotson said Marcellus Brown, 20, finally stopped the vehicle at Arcadia and Knoxville and bailed.
A K-9 tracked down Brown under a porch in the 200 block of E. Archer.
Dotson said Brown drove head-on into the path of a responding officer. The officer was able to get out of the way and was uninjured.
Brown was arrested on multiple charges including reckless driving, being unlicensed, resisting a peace officer, going more than 35 mph over the speed limit and aggravated assault on an officer.
Brown was booked into the Peoria County Jail upon arrest.
Peoria Police have not located the other three suspects.
The incident remains under investigation.
