CHILLICOTHE, Ill. — A Chillicothe man has been identified as the victim of a fatal Friday night ATV accident.
The Peoria County Coroner’s Office said 20-year-old Brandon Buckley suffered multiple blunt force trauma injuries, and likely died immediately.
Buckley was pronounced dead at the scene.
Peoria County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 19900 block of Centerville Road at approximately 11:40 p.m. Friday on reports of a two-person ATV off-road rollover accident.
Peoria County Sheriff Brian Asbell said two men were traveling across a farm field east of Centerville Rd. and north of Truitt Rd. when the driver lost control of the Polaris Razor and rolled.
The driver, 28-year-old Michael Ladd, also of Chillicothe, was taken to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center for his injuries related to the accident.
An investigation determined alcohol played a factor in the crash and Ladd was cited for aggravated DUI/accidential death and reckless operation of an ATV.
Ladd remained in the hospital Saturday morning for treatment and was provided felony citation/Notice to Appear on the charges against him.
