PEORIA, Ill. — Groundhog Day was a record-breaker for Peoria, Illinois.
Not only did Punxsutawney Phil not see his shadow Sunday, predicting an early spring, but Peoria broke a 100-year-old record with a high temperature of 61.
Peoria’s previous record high for February 2 was 54.
