MORTON, Ill. — One person died after a crash on I-155.
Illinois State Police say the driver of a Chevrolet Trailblazer was traveling northbound in the southbound lane of I-155 around 6:40 Friday night, striking another driver in a Dodge Charger head on near exit 28.
The driver of the Trailblazer was pronounced deceased on scene at 9:28 p.m. by the Tazewell County Coroner, Charles Hanley.
An autopsy of the driver is scheduled for Saturday. The name of the driver is being held pending notification of the family.
The driver of the Dodge was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing.
