PEORIA, Ill. — The Boards of Directors of the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce and CEO Council have announced Chris Setti will be the interim CEO of both organizations until a permanent replacement can be found.
Setti, the CEO of the Greater Peoria Economic Development Council, also serves on the Chamber Board of Directors.
His board has agreed to allow Setti to provide temporary leadership to the Chamber of Commerce and the CEO Council while the search for a permanent CEO continues.
“I’m hopeful we’ll have somebody identified in, let’s say, six weeks,” he said.
“But then you don’t know what their personal situation is. If they have to move, if they have kids in school, [or] if they have to give notice to their current job.
“It really will depend.”
As Setti and the Chamber Board continue their search for a permanent President and CEO, he said there is one area in which the next person who holds the post must be an extraordinaire.
“Collaboration is key,” he said.
“The region is too small to have a lot of fiefdoms, and so having somebody in that position who is able to work with organizations like my own [Greater Peoria Economic Development Council] and like some of the smaller Chambers of Commerce, I think is going to be super important.”
Day-to-day operation of the Chamber will continue to be handled by Sherneka Cagle.
Audry Kamm will continue to oversee daily operation of the CEO Council.
Joy Ledbetter, Chair of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce, and Cindy Loos, of the CEO Council, said they look forward to having a replacment for Jeff Griffin, who resigned in January, in place within a few months.
