PEORIA, Ill. — Three teenage suspects are in custody after a foot pursuit.
While patrolling Sunday night around 11:42 p.m. in the 600 block of W. Main, an officer located a known stolen vehicle, according to Public Information Officer Amy Dotson.
“The officer then approached the vehicle as three males got into the vehicle and then fled upon seeing the fully marked squad car approaching,” Dotson said.
There was a short foot pursuit and all three males were apprehended.
“All three are juvenile males, two 14-year-old males and a 13-year-old male,” Dotson said. “One of the 14-year-olds was also previously identified as a suspect in a burglary that took place on Saturday February 22, at approximately 4:06 a.m. at Advantage Auto Sales in the 800 block of W. Main.”
Upon arrival Saturday, officers saw the front window of the business smashed and surveillance footage showed two male suspects.
The suspects fled on foot before officers arrived on scene.
More information about the teenagers will not be released due to their ages.
The vehicle that the group was located in, was reported stolen on Saturday in the 600 block of W. Main.
The investigation continues as the second suspect in the burglary remains at large.
