DELAVAN, Ill. — Tazewell County Coroner Charles Hanley has identified 41-year-old Daniel Williamson of San Jose as the deceased.
An autopsy was scheduled for Friday afternoon.

DELAVAN, Ill. — Tazewell County Sheriff Jeff Lower says a man was shot to death Thursday night in Delavan during an altercation outside a home on Boynton Road, just off I-155. The shooting happened about 8:15 p.m.
In a press release, the Sheriff’s Office said the homeowner heard someone outside and went out to investigate. Once outside, a man threatened the homeowner, charged at and bit him on the face and head.
The homeowner shot the man in self-defense.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released.
An investigation is ongoing.
