LINCOLN, Ill. –The National Weather Service in Lincoln has issued a Wind Advisory now in effect until 6 a.m. Friday
The advisory includes Peoria-Tazewell-Woodford-Fulton-Marshall-Stark counties.
Including the cities of Peoria, Pekin, Galesburg, Toulon, Lacon, and Eureka.
Strong winds from the northwest will redevelop by late this evening along and west of the Illinois River Valley, and later tonight in the rest of central and most of eastern Illinois.
Sustained wind speeds of 30 to 35 mph, with frequent gusts of 40 to 50 mph, can be expected.
This will hamper travel, particularly for high profile vehicles on north to south highways.
The wind will gradual diminish just before daybreak in the Illinois River valley and by 9 am in eastern Illinois.
